I am an open source software developer or at least I have developed one open source tool which you can find at Wintersys Projects . As well as software development I have an interest in philosophy so I made up some philosophy themed memes which I put on t-shirts and that you can buy at Wintersys Merch to help support my open source software . Below you will find my "Linkedin" profile.
Market share: Success is sometimes, quite wrongly, associated with "market share". A refined product often has a smaller market share than an average product with mass appeal. Chasing market share is often a race to the bottom and so it's not something I am going to be doing.
Regulatory burden: It has been said to me "the weight of all this legal regulation is crippling and some people are laughing all the way to the bank consulting on it". Because of that this melee works as follows. Some men say "it's our sovereign right to tell you what to do" and other men say, "it's our sovereign right not to be told, by you, what to do" and so contention arises. We have to ask ourselves where the line between "regulation" and "coercive and controlling behaviour" is drawn in our society.
Open Hearted: I choose to work as an open source developer which means I give my software away without charging coin. This is the open hearted way of operating even though I am very poor. Because of control issues people want to have everything chained up in contracts which puts out an energy of "I don't trust you so I want it in writing" and it's this behaviour which has led to a society where all trust is gone. When you are in fear your energy contracts, when a society is in fear people sign contracts. Open source software works on a simple principle... "we produce computer code without charging coin for it on the understanding that if we don't eat we don't code which might be as big of a problem for you as it is for us".
Judicial Overreach: It's probably a valid debate about what hurts people more, more rules or less rules. In the extreme more rules looks like fascism and in the extreme less rules looks like anarchy. In a way a lot of our problems stem from the fact that we have forgotten the basics which is that "law" is always a negotiation but we think of it as an imposition. One of the tenets of open source or open hearted software is simply, "Do what you want with my code" and that is the open hearted approach and the more of it we see the less contracted in fear our society will be also.
Internet Landlords: What I have aimed for here is to develop software which might enable you to become an Internet landlord. In tech speak a website is known as a "web property" and under this model, what that would mean is that if you developed a website or web property using my software then you would have essentially be an Internet Landlord where the members of your website(s) are essentially your tenants. It's a simple analogy but I think it's a powerful one to make the point that developing tooling to aid with the construction of Internet properties is a progressive activity.
The Amateur Standard - The word amateur is derived from the French word "amour" which means "to love" or "for the love of". And so my tech work I do for the love of it because I don't charge coin directly although you can donate. People charge money when they are in fear and people give freely of themselves when they are in love and THAT is what "open source" or "open hearted" software is about; according to me at least.
NOTE: the word "amateur" also decodes as "a mature" where to "be mature" means to be grown up and not childish any more. Fiat money is toy money love itself is the real money. Its difficult because most people haven't grown up yet and so if you are "cashless" or "building software without using money" then its very hard to collaborate with people who will only collaborate with you if you pay them money to collaborate. The song says, "all you need is love" it doesn't say "all you need is pounds and dollars". What more could you want than what you have already got?
